Fees

How much will my first visit cost?

Cardiology Workup

Although it is difficult to estimate the cost before examining your pet, here are some useful guidelines. The fee for a consultation and examination  is $120 for your pet's first visit.  The basic cardiology work-up of an echocardiogram (heart ultrasound) and visit starts at $575. Depending on other tests performed such as blood work, chest X-rays, electrocardiogram (ECG) and Holter monitor, costs may vary. A typical cardiology work-up and visit will vary between about $575 and $1000, with an average of about $800.

An estimate of your cost will be provided to you before beginning any diagnostic testing. In general, the more information the doctor has available, the more we can fine-tune your pet’s care. Previous tests are helpful for comparison. Cardiology Northwest is committed to giving your pet the best possible care regardless of how much you choose to spend.

Heart Screening Examinations
Heart Screening Exams are designed to rule out any current heart problems so that the animal may be bred or registered with the OFA.  During a Heart Screening Exam, the pet is examined and a certificate of heart condition is provided.  If your pet is undergoing a Heart Screening Exam for OFA certification purposes, please bring a completed OFA form.  A link to this form is available on our "Forms" page.  In-office Heart Screenings are $75.  Dr. Wood also frequently perform heart screenings at outside clinics throughout the year.  A list of clinics can be found by clicking on the "Cardiology Clinics" tab at the top of this page.

Payment
Full payment is expected at the time of your pet's visit.  We accept VISA, MasterCard, American Express, CareCredit, debit cards, checks, and cash for payment.

CareCredit is a medical credit card that is accepted by many veterinarians, including veterinary emergency services.  Depending on the amount of your invoice, there are some interest-free payment plans available.  Care Credit gives you another option to pay for your pet's care.  Their website has additional information on their service and an online application.  Click on CareCredit to go directly to their website.
